Who is behind the picks

About this site

One researcher, five providers, no operator affiliation. This page says who we are and what keeps the ranking honest.

What this is. A single-purpose guide to getting online in Costa Rica. No hotel widgets, no flight deals, one question answered properly: which eSIM fits your trip, and when no eSIM does. The picks come from comparing every Costa Rica plan of the five providers we can verify, on published facts: which networks they ride, prices, fair-use caps, hotspot rules, refund records.

Why Costa Rica needed its own site. Because the usual eSIM advice breaks here. This country has three national networks, the state operator Kölbi covers ground the other two do not, and no travel eSIM roams on it. A guide that ranks five brands without telling you that is answering the wrong question. That page exists because of it.

Who runs it. An independent researcher who builds travel-connectivity guides. Not a mobile operator, not owned by or affiliated with any provider on these pages. When something here is wrong it gets fixed in the next update, and the methodology page shows exactly how the sausage is made, commissions included.

Why trust a site with affiliate links? Do not, on our word alone. Check the receipts. Every price carries the date we verified it. Every coverage claim names its source. Our default pick pays us the least of the five brands we link. The biggest unlimited brand on the market sits in our tables unlinked and unmonetized. One of our own partners wears a Trustpilot warning we wrote ourselves. And an entire page tells rural travelers to buy a $1 local chip we earn nothing from. A site optimizing for commissions would do none of that.
